Dance Loft on 14 is the rehearsal home of a vibrant community of South Asian dance companies, and this November, three of them share the stage for our first-ever South Asian Dance Festival as Diwali begins. DMV Adavus traces the history of classical Bharatanatyam in a world premiere, Desi Moves & Vibes tells a story of childhood, sisterhood, and motherhood through Bollywood fusion, and Nazara brings mehndi-night energy and a Latin X Bollywood fusion. Rooted in tradition and alive with the joy of growing up between cultures, it’s a celebration for everyone. No familiarity with Indian dance required.
